Molecular spintronics is a rising research field at the frontier between spintronics and chemistry. Beyond, plasticity and low cost, carbon based materials were first seen as very promising for spintronics devices due to their expected long spin lifetime. While originally overlooked it was later unveiled that opportunities arising from chemistry could also lead to develop new spintronics functionalities.
We investigate the spin-dependent transport properties through various organic materials such as organic semiconductors (Alq3, CoPc), Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs) and 2D materials like graphene.
